Thousand Island and Donahue

Thousand Island Lake

The climb out of Agnew Meadows is really beautiful, with the soaring jagged peaks of the Minaret range ahead, and the beautiful vista of Thousand Island lake--the most beautiful lake on the PCT, in my opinion. It was hard to leave Ken and Karen at the pack station, but having such amazing scenery certainly helped.

Then we faced the tough challenge of Donahue Pass and the beginning of the rocky portion of the PCT that passes through Yosemite and the Tuolumne meadow area. This is the least fun part of the Sierra, and I was not looking forward to it.

After Donahue the rocks continues as we descended towards Tuolumne Meadow and a place to camp for the night.
