Chinook to White Pass

After spending a great evening at Rani and Bob's, I drove to White Pass and camped overnight there, and then today I once again left my gear behind and took Shyla in the trailer to Chinook Pass, then slack packed (for what will probably be the last time) back to White Pass. The trail in this area is beautiful, with lots of lush green grass and small lakes everywhere.

I also met lots of hikers who were incredulous that I was going to ride through the Goat Rocks and Knife's Edge tomorrow, which is the next section south of White Pass, as I am heading back to where the other trailer is parked at Keene's horse camp. They keep saying that I'm crazy for doing it, but I remember the area when Shyla and I went through in 2014, and although it was challenging, we made it fine, and there was a lot more snow that time than we will face tomorrow. I have a little apprehension about it, but I think we'll be able to manage it. There is a stock trail that bypasses Knife's Edge, but it is also a very rocky, difficult section in its own way, and I would rather stick with what I know if I can. We will see how it goes tomorrow.
